Rosario Schedules May Opening

The scenic and rustic campus of Walla Walla College’s Marine Station is now even more welcoming as campus improvements are close to completion.

Alumni and other guests are invited to tour the Marine Station’s new dining hall and cabins at an Open House Celebration scheduled for Sunday, May 6, at 1:30 p.m.

The event will conclude a four-year $2 million renovation project that provided for the new buildings and other infrastructure improvements.

The Marine Station can now accommodate larger groups throughout the entire year. The new cafeteria, which will also be used as a meeting room, can accommodate 250 visitors. New water lines and parking spaces will make the campus easier to maintain.

The project was largely funded by the Lindgren Foundation. Clarence Lindgren, a 1935 chemistry graduate, heads the foundation along with his sons Eric, a 1965 history graduate and Paul, a 1966 biology graduate.

The project was also completed through the generosity of alumni and other volunteers who contributed many hours of labor.
