In With the New

Nine new faculty members joined the Walla Walla College campus this fall.

Marlene Baerg, assistant professor of engineering and director of engineering recruitment, graduated from the University of Southern California with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in industrial and systems engineering, and a master of business administration degree. She is a former director of business development and marketing for Three Angels Global Networking, Inc.

Roger Baltrusch, associate professor of engineering, graduated from wwc with a bachelor’s degree in engineering. He earned a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Southern California. He also received a doctor of dental surgery degree from Loma Linda University. Baltrusch has a one-year appointment with WWC.

Lynn Boyd, associate professor of business, graduated from wwc with bachelors degrees in theology and German. He has secondary teaching certification in Washington and Utah and received a master of business administration degree from the University of Utah. He was formerly district general manager for Colonial Insurance in northwest Washington.

John Dennison, associate professor of music, earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from California State University, Los Angeles, and a doctorate of musical arts degree from the University of Southern California. He is a former music director and conductor of the Southeast Symphony in Los Angeles.

Patsy Glatt, assistant professor of English, graduated from wwc with a double major in English and art. She earned a master’s degree in English, and has nearly completed a doctorate in English from Washington State University. She formerly worked for wwc as a contract teacher.

Jerold Hartman, communications instructor, graduated from WWC with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication. He and his wife have just returned from the Peace Corps, where they were teacher trainers and did secondary project work with Youth Environmental Camps.

Robert Holm, automotive instructor, graduated from wwc with a bachelor’s degree in automotive technology. He is ase-certified as a master mechanic, is a bmw-certified technician, and has an faa Airframe and Powerplant license.

Lyn Ritz, associate professor of music, received a master of music education degree from Penn State and a doctorate in musical arts from the University of Kentucky. She most recently taught at the University of Dayton, in Ohio.

Gene Stone, associate professor of biology, earned a bachelor’s degree from Southern Missionary College, now Southern Adventist University, and a master’s degree in biology from wwc. He joins us from Atlantic Union College.

Clinton Valley, associate vice president for academic administration, holds a doctoral degree in educational leadership from Western Michigan University. See the full story about Valley on page 9 of this issue of Westwind. W
