1999-2000: The Year In Review

A Word from the President & Board Chair

» During the 1999-2000 school year, Walla Walla College began the process of adopting a new mission statement. As we struggled with the choice of words and passages, we were reminded again that when we work to strengthen our academic programs and physical plant, our focus must remain on the students.

Faculty set high expectations for their students, yet they go out of their way to help students rise to meet these expectations. Walla Walla College is an excellent place for learning, personal growth and most importantly, spiritual betterment. It is wonderful to be part of a community that places its life in the hands of the Lord.

We are grateful for the 1999-2000 school year and would like to extend a heartfelt thank you on behalf of Walla Walla College, its faculty, staff, and students for your continuing prayers and support. I am humbled by the devotion of the community of people who stand behind their college.

May God bless you in the coming year.

W.G. Nelson, President
Walla Walla College

» Last Friday afternoon I drove by our Walla Walla College campus. It was tranquil in the summer vacation heat. But the grounds crew had done their usual professional job and the campus was impressive one that anyone would be proud to be associated with. But the beauty of WWC goes beyond the green verdure, multicolored blossoms, and even its unique architecture.

Walla Walla College is beautiful because of its people. Professors and staff reflect the beauty of Christ as do students in various stages of maturing Christian graces.

Yes, Iım proud of our college for the above reasons, and many more. Walla Walla College is indeed a beautiful institution.

Jere D. Patzer, Chair
Walla Walla College Board of Trustees
