College Avenue Crossings

Illuminated from within, the Chan Shun Pavilion buzzes with activity on a snowy January evening.

The Pavilion houses the Edward F. Cross School of Engineering, one of the largest programs on campus. Engineering students may often be found burning the midnight oil in the Designers Resource Center, commonly referred to as “the fishbowl.” The spacious study room is dedicated to the six engineering alumni who designed the Pavilion; Cecelia Phillips Ames ’80, Leonard Harms ’70, Donald Kirkman ’52, Sukhdev Mathaudhu ’70, Brian Poynor ’90, and J. Byron Rupert ’64.

Students, however, are not the only ones to be found hard at work within the walls of the Pavilion. Directly above the fishbowl, the president and other administrators work toward shaping the future of Walla Walla College. The Pavilion is their interim location until the Administration Building is completed.
