College Avenue Crossings
John McMackin, senior mass communication media major, gets ready to cue talent for Blue Mountain News, a 10-minute news program produced, directed, and anchored by Walla Walla College students. Students working with Blue Mountain News gain real-world experience working with industry-standard equipment, and are able to develop a professional portfolio before entering the job market.
Blue Mountain News is produced in the new James C. Hannum News Studio in the Canaday Technology Center, one part of the newly updated Media Arts Center.
The center includes a black box theater for drama performance, wwc’s fm radio station Positive Life Radio, video editing rooms, an audio production room, and a new Smart Classroom for speech classes.
