Ed Ammon, director of human resources and mayor of College Place, was given an award for outstanding service and community leadership at the annual Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet.

Laurel Dovich, professor of engineering, was named Engineering Professor of the Year for the 2001-02 school year. She is the only WWC engineering professor to have received this honor twice. The award is funded by an engineering alumn.

Kevin Krueger, KGTS general manager, was elected vice president of the Adventist Radio Broadcasting Association (formerly Adventist Radio Network). Krueger has been in previous ARBA leadership roles, including treasurer and executive committee member.

Fred Troutman, associate professor of nursing, successfully defended his doctoral dissertation at the Fielding Institute in Santa Barbara, Calif. The title of his dissertation is “The Lived Experience of Fathers Following the Death of a Child: A Study of Inflicted Change.”

Caroline Wrightman, assistant professor of nursing, presented an essay, ”Understanding Demon Possession and Mental Illness: A Biblical-Christian Perspective,“ at the 30th International Seminar on the Integration of Faith and Learning held at Sahmyook University in Seoul, Korea, last June. W
