1950s Top
Robert E. Becker ’53 and his wife, Pauline, make their home in Elk Grove, Calif. Robert retired in 1981 from the Northern California Seventh-day Adventist Conference, but continued substitute preaching until 1999. Some of Robert’s memories from wwc are of Art Spoo, Dean Sonnenberg, and working his way through school with a wife and two children. “The Lord always provided,” he says. Robert and Pauline have two children, Sandra and Gerald.

B. Helen (Storey) Culver ’53 and her husband, Herman, reside in Eagle, Idaho. Helen is a retired registered nurse but is currently providing full-time care for her 102-year-old mother and 94-year-old aunt. In her spare moments Helen dabbles with poetry and keeps in touch with family and friends from Gem State Academy and wwc. She has many good college memories including nurses training, picking asparagus for extra money, and the Lord’s watch and care in her life. The Culvers have two children: William and Sharon La Mott ’86.

Irvin Fried ’53 and his wife, Helen (Morley) ’52, live in Hillsboro, Ore., where Irvin is retired after 34 years with Tektronix. While at Tektronix, Irvin worked with oscilloscope testing and calibration, and was catalog products custom modification engineer and cathode ray tube test equipment engineer. Irvin has long enjoyed a variety of hobbies including computers, photography, trains and railroads, WTPCJ amateur radio, and ho model railroading. He and Helen have two daughters, Karen Christensen ’78, and Sharon Wilson ’84; and five grandchildren, including Jennifer Christensen ’03, and Andrew Christensen att.

Henry Hsu ’53 and his wife, Majella (Lau) ’53, are both retired and living in Carlsbad, Calif. Before retirement, Henry completed five years of public accounting, obtained his cpa certification, then worked for 25 years. Majella worked as a registered nurse at Glendale Adventist Hospital and Simi Adventist Hospital while raising their family. The Hsus are members of the San Marcos Seventh-day Adventist Church and enjoy good weather and the ocean. Majella and Henry have three children, Ellen, Elaine, and Julie att. Favorite college memories include Mrs. Zolber’s pie and eating at the College Store fountain. EMAIL

Avonelle (Brown) Remboldt ’53 is retired and lives in College Place. She writes that, “God has blessed me abundantly.” Avonelle is involved in music and service in her church and community and has enjoyed serving as a wwc alumni secretary for the past two years. She has two sons, Michael ’77 and Mark ’81; and four grandchildren. EMAIL

Edward H. Sanders ’53 and his wife, Darlene, live in Grants Pass, Ore. Since graduation Edward has been using his skills to spread the gospel. He has built churches and schools and taught Bible, history, and construction technology. From his college days, Edward remembers sharing song and the Word with prisoners and starting new churches. Currently, Edward is working on backdrops and props for the Better Life Television Studio, the only Adventist television broadcasting studio in Oregon. He sees public relations work for this ministry in his future.

Stella M. Smock ’53 is retired and living in Nashville, Tenn. Following graduation, she taught for three years, then received her master’s degree in library science from the University of Washington. After working at UW, she accepted a position from Vanderbilt University and worked there until retirement in 1996. Stella enjoys swimming in the summers and attending symphonies and operas in the winter. Favorite college memories are great Saturday evening programs, quality music, and friendly, helpful faculty members.

Madella (Gimbel) Toop ’53 and her husband, Aylmer, reside in Ontario, Canada, where they live on the family farm purchased in 1912 by Alymer’s family. Madella worked as a school nurse at Almonte General Hospital and Carleton Place General Hospital until her retirement in 1992. Favorite college memories are class camping trips, summers studying biology in Anacortes, a class trip to Alaska with Dr. Booth, and working at the old Walla Walla General Hospital.

Bob Bohlman ’58 and ’64 and his wife, Barbara, reside in College Place. Bob is currently retired. He recently finished his first folk instrument gospel CD, titled “How Far From Home,” on which he plays the bass, harmonica, mountain dulcimer, and hammered dulcimer. Bob’s favorite wwc memories include “Dad” Applington’s classes, Friday vespers, meeting other young people from similar Christian backgrounds, and John Waller’s spring poetry composition class. The Bohlmans have three children, Joyce, Jeff, and Greg; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. EMAIL

George H. Crumley ’58 and his wife Ruth (Weller) att., are retired and living in Surprise, Ariz. Before retirement, George served
25 years as treasurer for the Seventh-day Adventist conferences of Washington, Wisconsin, and Lake Union, and 15 years as associate treasurer and treasurer for the North American Division General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. He and Ruth have two children, Tari and George; and three grandchildren. EMAIL

Amaryllis (Gramms) Brown ’58, and her husband, Herman, live in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. Amaryllis retired from nursing in 1999. During her nursing career, she lived and worked in many different locations, including, Oregon, Washington, Michigan, West Virginia, Ontario, Alberta, and Newfoundland. The Browns have two daughters, Bonita and Carola; and three grandchildren.

Carol M. Danielson ’58 is a retired registered nurse living in St. Helena, Calif. Before retirement she practiced nursing in obstetrics and surgery, and at a doctor’s office. Carol enjoys many activities, such as photography, camping, world travel, roller and ice skating, and water and snow skiing.

Glen W. Davis ’58 is currently working at the Oregon Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in the Education Department. Glen received his master’s degree from Eastern Washington University and certifications from Andrews University and Portland State University. He has worked as a dean at Mt. Ellis Academy and Upper Columbia Academy, and as a principal at Walla Walla Valley Academy. As for life-changing experiences, Glen lists marrying Shirley Ann (Amonson) att., as a highlight. He lists being diagnosed with MS in 1965 as a very difficult time. He credits the grace of God and the support of his loving wife and family in making it through that trial. Shirley and Glen enjoy traveling, and have visited Mexico, Central America, Europe, and Hawaii. They make their home in Battle Ground, Wash., and have three children, Gregory ’78, Bradley ’85, and Monte att.

Nellie B. Davis ’58 is enjoying retirement in Milton-Freewater, Ore., doing “all the things I didn’t have time for when I was working.” Nellie enjoys sewing for International Children’s Care (ICC) and sponsors two orphans through ICC as well.

Lynn A. (Trowbridge) Finch ’58 and her husband, Douglas, are retired and living in Oregon City, Ore. After college Lynn moved to Oregon and worked as a registered nurse. Lynn received her master’s degree in nursing administration from Loma Linda University then returned to Oregon. She stopped working in 1980 due to health problems. The couple have four children, Sandy ’84, Steven, Russell att., and Raymond att. The Finch family has always enjoyed camping, the mountains, and trips to the beach. Favorite college memories are of working in the cafeteria, and the campus with its trees, lawn, flowers, and unique buildings.

Richard L. Freeman ’58 lives in Desert Hot Springs, Calif., with his wife, Nancy (Hellman) att. Richard is retired from the Riverside County Health Department. He and Nancy, an avid golfer, enjoy spending the summer months in Gresham, Ore., and winters in Desert Hot Springs. Richard and Nancy have four children, Tim, Jerri Lehto att., Jennifer Lehto att., and Kelly Lehto.

Warrine F. (McDuffie) Harden ’58 and her husband, Hal ’59, make their home in Wenatchee, Wash. Warrine retired in 2002 after working as a secretary and medical secretary, and more than 20 years as a registered nurse. Hal closed his general practice in 2000 and is presently a substitute physician. Warrine and Hal plan to travel around the United States. They have four children and seven grandchildren. EMAIL

David Igler ’58 and Jane (Murdoch) ’58 reside in Loma Linda, Calif., where Jane is a retired English teacher and David is vice president of Glendale Adventist Medical Center. Jane taught college English classes, mostly at Pacific Union College, for more than 40 years. They have one son, Peter. EMAIL

An-Marie (Jackson) Kromminga ’58 makes her home in Benton City, Wash., where she is a life skills teacher with the Kiona-Benton School District. She has taught in special education for the past 12 years, and in 2002 received the Tri-City Crystal Apple Award for excellence in teaching. An-Marie collects music boxes and musical dolls. She has two sons, Charles and Donovan. Early this year, An-Marie’s husband William “Bill” ’59 passed away, and she is making a memory book in honor of him. Corinne (Elliott) Pestes ’58 and her husband, Michael ’57, make their home in Sierra Vista, Ariz. Corinne has worked as a school nurse for more than 25 years. She retired in 1997 so she and Michael could travel. Corrine enjoys gardening, knitting, embroidery, hiking, and exploration. Her favorite college memories are of a loving and enthusiastic staff, memory-filled buildings, student activities, midnight hospital runs, and fellow classmates. Corinne and Michael have three children, Laurin ’82, Jean Boller ’86, and Ryan ’88; and six grandchildren. EMAIL

Ruth (Emery) Stafford ’58 and her husband, Charles att., live in Ellensburg, Wash. Ruth is employed as a registered staff nurse with Home Care of Kittitas Valley, and has been doing home health nursing for the past 15 years. She loves her work but plans on retiring later this year. In February, Ruth and Charles returned from a month-long evangelistic tour in India. They found the tour to be a success and a blessing. Ruth and Charles have four children, Lori, Merlin ’87, Laren ’84, and Marilee. EMAIL

Norma J. (Bramlett) Andersen ’63 and her husband, Don, reside in Grass Valley, Calif., where she is a registered nurse at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. Norma is active in the Grass Valley Church and enjoys camping, fishing, and traveling. Don and Norma have four children, Robert, Nathan, Ted, and Jen. EMAIL

Gerald L. Dunifer ’63 and his wife, Caroline, live in Ferndale, Mich., where Gerald is a professor at Wayne State University. Before Wayne State, Gerald taught physics and astronomy at Washington State University for 32 years. He is currently involved in university outreach programs to surrounding schools and community. Gerald’s research area is electrical and magnetic properties of metals, and he has active research collaborations with scientists in England, France, Germany, Belgium, Hungary, and China. Gerald enjoys sailing, hiking travel, and fondly remembers milkshakes from the wwc Dairy.

Marilyn R.V. (Pinder) Hubley ’63 and her husband, George, make their home in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada. Marilyn is employed as a home support worker for PRN Health Services. She and George have two children, Stephen and Becky; and two grandchildren. EMAIL

Otis Parks ’63 is retired and living in Deary, Idaho. He and his wife, Ann, have six children and fourteen grandchildren. In Otis’ professional career, he worked as a farmer for ten years, a social worker for three, and a minister for 30 years. Since being retired, Otis is still active in ministry, having held evangelistic meetings in Russia, Africa, and India. For the last 15 summers, the Parks have also conducted horse camp trips for the Upper Columbia Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in various places around the Northwest. EMAIL

Ann (Hedlund) Parmiter ’63 and her husband, Chris, live in Colville, Wash. Ann retired from nursing in 1999, and now enjoys many pursuits including gardening, needlework, painting, reading, and woodworking. She and Chris have two children, Scott and Mary Ann. Ann’s favorite college memories include social activities, falling asleep in Dr. Shankel’s morning chemistry class, Friday night worships with Mrs. Ward, and promotional road trips with Portland nursing students. Vivian (Marsh) Prewitt ’63 makes her home in Dunlap, Tenn. Before settling in Tennessee, she and her late husband, Glenn, traveled across the country as truck drivers in their own separate trucks. Now, she continues to travel, recently accompanying her son Eugene on an evangelistic series to Russia, and traveling to Alaska with her other son, Michael. Vivian’s favorite college memories include learning to ski at Spout Springs and attending the first service at the new College Church. EMAIL

Elford D. Radke ’63 is semi-retired in Desert Hot Springs, Calif., while still managing Audit Team Four for the Oregon Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Elford shares that for him, wwc was a professional turning point from business to denominational work. Elford pastored the Dillon and Anaconda, Mont., churches from 1968 to 1973, and managed the Montana Adventist Book Center from 1966 to 1974. Elford enjoys Desert Hot Springs, preferring the warm desert weather over the snow and rain up north. He and his wife, Norabel, have three children, Lawrence ’80, Carol, and Deanne; and two grandchildren.

C. Joanne (Heid) Rector ’63 resides in Battle Creek, Mich., where she is a staff therapist at Meier Clinics. Fifteen years after graduating from wwc with a major in secretarial science, Joanne was diagnosed with arthritis. She changed careers, and with a master’s degree from Andrews University, Joanne began counseling as a mental health therapist. She has two children, Joe and Jerry.

Richard Robins ’63 is a kindergarten teacher with the Toppenish School District. Before teaching in the public school system, he taught in Adventist schools until 1987. Richard plans on retiring in 2005. He enjoys rock cutting, gardening, and carpentry. He and his wife, Joan (Dahlbeck) ’63, have three children, Valerie Presley att., Dawn Spoon att., and Julene Russell ’83; and five grandchildren. EMAIL

Clyde J. Sample ’63 and his wife, Lou Ellen (Rasmussen) ’63, reside in Spangle, Wash., where he is assistant food service director at Upper Columbia Academy. At their church, Lou enjoys serving as deaconess. Clyde also serves as deacon, and enjoys building furniture for their home and church. The Samples have three children: David, Laurinda, and Raymond; and four grandchildren. EMAIL

Thomas Siaw ’63 makes his home in Linden, Germany, where he
is a medical doctor and director of traditional Chinese medicine at Bad Salzhausen, a health and wellness center. Thomas enjoys painting and singing, especially his favorite song, “The Holy City.” From his wwc days, Thomas remembers playing music with the orchestra and choir, as well as summer school at Rosario Beach. Thomas has two children, Steven and Sonya. EMAIL

Kenneth R. Trefz ’63 and his wife, Evelyn, reside in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada. After graduating in the summer of 1963, Kenneth taught in academies for nine years, then in 1976, graduated from the Loma Linda School of Dentistry. He semi-retired in 1996, and since then has gone on 10 trips outside of North America, either as a relief or volunteer dentist. Traveling is a hobby for Evelyn and Kenneth who recently visited China and Cuba. Favorite college memories include great times with students and teachers in the Biology Department and J.R. Sloop’s encouragement.

Vanoy Smith ’66 and his wife, Joan (Dietrich) ’63, live in Burlington, Wash., where Vanoy is a family physician. He and Joan have six children, Velona att., Vaughn ’92, Voree att., Vicki, Vonni Jo, and Valden. Professional highlights are three years of mission service in Hong Kong, and more than 3,500 baby deliveries. Vanoy enjoys beekeeping and being “the oldest guy” in his mountain biking group. Favorite wwc memories are meals at the Dietrich home, courting and marrying Joan, and ice cream feeds in the men’s dorm.

Janet (Moore) Casareale ’68 is living in YuChih, Nantou, Taiwan, where she is an assistant professor at Taiwan Adventist College, teaching language and culture. Still adjusting to a new culture, Janet feels life in Taiwan is stretching her intellectually, professionally, and spiritually. She shares, “God has become more real to me here.” In her free time Janet enjoys knitting, watching videos, or listening to National Public Radio over the Internet. She has two daughters, Rosemary Casareale Chapman att., and Ellen curr. att.; and two granddaughters.

Wilton E. Dillon ’68 lives in Littleton, Colo., with his wife, Marjorie (Tucker) att., and is self-employed as the owner of Golden Autumn Home, an adult care facility. Wilton enjoys several hobbies including hang-gliding, hiking, scuba diving, old lighthouses, reading histories and biographies, and volunteering for public health services and education programs. The Dillons share that Marjorie’s recent experience with breast cancer was a life-changing experience; bringing the couple many challenges and lessons in life and bravery. Wilton and Marjorie have three children, Peter att., Robert att., and Kelle. EMAIL

Charles (Chuck) Godfrey ’68 and his wife, Cheryl (Jameson) att., make their home in Wooster, Ohio. Charles is employed as a truck driver with Great Lakes Cheese as well as a pastor for the Christian Church of New Beginnings. In his career following graduation, Charles worked 16 years in the accounting field and several years pastoring in the Carolina Conference of Seventh-day Adventists until 1999. Charles and Cheryl enjoy traveling, working together, and spending time with their grandsons. The Godfreys have two children, Chane and Cherian; and two grandsons. EMAIL

Roger A. Kruger ’68 and his wife, Sandi (Edwards) att., reside in Milton-Freewater, Ore. Roger is a pastor with the Upper Columbia Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. He and Sandi have two children, Tim att., and Todd att.; and three grandchildren. Roger enjoys astronomy, string art, and videography. EMAIL

Arlene Brewer ’78
makes her home in Glendale, Calif. She is an operating room nurse at Huntington Memorial Hospital. Arlene enjoys reading, traveling, backpacking, nature study, kayaking, and visiting national parks.

Beverly F. (Rippey) Foster ’78 is a homemaker in Fargo, N.D. She and her husband, James ’80, have two children, John att., and Laura. Since graduation, Beverly has taught mathematics and accounting, and she and James have lived in California, Virginia, and North Dakota. From her wwc days, Beverly remembers early morning registration lines. Dorm life, she says, was a special time, living and worshiping with other young women.

Susan (Hayes) Gage ’78 is unit coordinator for Walla Walla General Hospital’s Women’s Center, where she works with lower income families, pregnant women, and new moms and their babies. She is also a board member of the community service council and regional planning committee for the Washington State March of Dimes. Susan has three children, Michael, Jana, and Jennifer. Susan especially enjoys traveling, camping, hiking, scrapbooking, reading, spending time with her family, and leading out in women’s ministries at church. EMAIL

Herb Hainey ’78 and his wife, Dawn (Zelka) ’76, live in Arlington, Wash. Herb is a design engineer with Herb Hainey and Associates. He and Dawn have two children, Lisa curr. att., and Brian. Herb and Dawn have been involved in many of their children’s activities, such as Pathfinder club and school. Herb enjoys hobbies that include nature and science: backpacking, hiking, bike riding, and recently gps and celestial navigation. Professionally, Herb’s business does embedded system electronic design. He is a licensed engineer in Washington state and has been awarded a U.S. patent for high speed tone detection. Favorite college memories include the music, being one of the ‘kgts Guys’, rotating machinery lab, Saturday nights in the computer lab, dating his wife, meeting other students, exploring the Blue Mountains, and college graduation followed by getting married the next day. Barbara (Williams) Hockenson ’78 and her husband, Roy, live in Auburn, Wash. Barbara is a nurse with Rainier School and Multicare. She and Roy have two children, Loren and Kevin. Barbara enjoys activities with her family, including skiing, camping, youth Sabbath School, and just relaxing at home. She has experienced nursing in various fields and has found rewards in each one. Barbara shares that her life-changing experience has been seeing God’s love through her spouse and through parenting. Favorite college memories are music appreciation class, marriage and family class with Dr. Barnes, the patience of the girls’ dean, Wilma Hepker’s excitement for social work, the springtime engagement count, and guys being thrown into the fountain.

Melody (Thompson) Kroll ’78 and her husband, Neil, live in Castle Rock, Wash. Melody works in Longview, Wash., as the medical floor charge nurse at St. John Medical Center. She is active in her community’s small country church and keeps busy between work, church, and her four children, David, Daniel, Anna, and Esther. EMAIL

Rylla C. (Hicks) Riverman ’78 is a manager with Providence Health Systems. She has worked as a clinical informaticist for several years and in 1998 received her master of business administration degree from City University. Rylla and her husband, Brian, live in Portland, Ore., where Brian is a firefighter/paramedic. Rylla and Brian enjoy traveling and spending time at their beach home. Her favorite college memory is her senior year of nursing with leadership classes taught by Fred Troutman. EMAIL

Douglas L. Sharp ’78 lives in Port Orchard, Wash., where he is a pastor in the Washington Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. He and his wife, Susanne (Reiber) att., have three children, Nicole curr. att., Erica curr. att., and Brady. Douglas enjoys parenting, pastoring, golf and Rook. EMAIL

Britt Spaulding ’78 and his wife, Robyn, live in Culver, Ore. Britt is general manager at Round Butte Seed Growers. He and Robyn have three children, Kyle curr. att., Michael, and Rian. Rose (Grismore) Buchanan ’83 and her husband, Carl att., reside in Portland, Ore., where she is a registered nurse at Portland Adventist Medical Center. Her favorite college memories include Saturday nights and good friends. She and Carl have three children, daughter Amy, and twin sons, Alex and Andrew.

Sheryl (Lang) Chapin ’83 and her husband, Rusty, make their home in Oregon City, Ore., where Sheryl is a registered nurse and works with Guide Dogs for the Blind. Sheryl enjoys golfing, reading, traveling, and spending time with family. She and Rusty have three children, Jimmy, Andy, and Jamie. EMAIL

Kay (Hansen) Garner ’83 and her husband, Gordon att., are living and serving with Adventist World Radio-Asia on the island of Guam. The Garners have two children, Erin and Alexander. Both children attend Guam Adventist Academy. EMAIL

Nancy (Kolling) Green ’83 resides in Gresham, Ore., with her husband, David, and their two children, Matthew and Sarah. Nancy stays busy with two kids in academy, a husband studying computer engineering, and work as the day shift assistant head nurse in cardiac intensive care at Providence Portland Medical Center. In her free time Nancy enjoys gardening and needlecrafts, especially knitting and quilting, and making costumes for a dance school. She is also an active participant in her church and a frequent commuter from Portland to Milo, but makes the most of these trips, photographing the covered bridges along the way. Favorite college memories include vespers, boys’ toga parties to the girls dorm, rides with the sailing class, and a weekly lunch date at the College Dairy with her roommate. EMAIL

Stephen P. Harden ’83 makes his home in Wenatchee, Wash., with his wife, Ruby (Eastwood) ’83 and ’84, and their four children, Marcus, Annamarie, Carolyn, and Caleb. Stephen owns a real estate business in Wenatchee, and Ruby is a critical care nurse at Central Washington Hospital. As for service activities, Ruby helps with the local Pathfinder club and Stephen chairs the finance committee at Valley View Seventh-day Adventist Church. The Hardens have many positive memories from wwc. Stephen remembers working for Howard Henderson in College Services as a great experience, and Ruby fondly recalls activity-filled weekends on the Portland campus. EMAIL

Bev (Gimbel) Kramer ’83 and her husband, Roger, are enjoying life. The couple makes their home in Clackamas, Ore., with their two children, Caitrin and Kyler, and are excited about raising their family. Bev is employed at Adventist Medical Center as a staff nurse in labor and delivery, and Roger is also employed at the medical center in the food service department.

B. Dean Huber ’83 makes his home in Springfield, Ore., and he is a certified public assistant and practices in Eugene, Ore. He is a partner with Kernut Stokes Brandt & Co. He and his wife, Bettina, have two children, Brianna and Erica. His favorite college memories are of good friends, good teachers, and intramural sports. EMAIL

Elizabeth (Van Dorn) Juhl ’83 makes her home in Grand Terrace, Calif., where she is a registered nurse in Loma Linda Medical Center’s Obstetrics Department. Elizabeth and her husband Stan att., have twins, Austin and Hillary. Favorite college memories are of working in the student association center, helping with church services in Waitsburg, Christmas caroling, and driving each week between the Portland campus and Walla Walla. Reuben Rabanal ’83 and his wife, LaQuita, live in Olathe, Kan., where he is a medical social worker with Kansas City Hospice. For hobbies, and as a stress reliever, Reuben lifts weights, competes in natural body building shows, and recently started teaching Kung Fu. He and LaQuita homeschool their four children, Michael, Katelyn, Jonathan, and David. Reuben shares that his faith in God and his wonderful family are what keep him young. Favorite college memories are friends, activities, and being full of life. EMAIL

Patti Roberts ’83 is starting her 17th year as an air traffic controller with the Federal Aviation Administration in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she makes her home. She offers a large thanks to the wwc aviation program, in particular professors Allan Fisher and Fred Fox, for their patience in coursework and flying lessons. Patti enjoys Salt Lake City, and she and her husband, Mike Headrick, take advantage of the location by skiing, hiking, biking, and flying. EMAIL

Steve Rose ’83 and his wife, Carol, make their home in Strathmore, Calif., where Steve is a self-employed physical therapist. He and Carol have two children, Eric and Julie. A wwc highlight was calling Garth Fisher (Steve’s major professor of electronics) 19 years after graduation and enjoying a good conversation. Todd Schafer ’83 and his wife, Stephanie (Beecher) att., reside in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. Todd is an entrepreneur managing Schafer Contracting. He and Stephanie have five children, James, Amy, Susan, Laura, and Danielle. All five attend Fraser Valley Adventist Academy. Todd still enjoys playing hockey, and is busy fixing a house for resale. The Schafer family is actively involved in church and school, and feel very blessed.

Frank Stahl ’83 and his wife, Kay (Stackhouse) ’83, live in Bryant Pond, Maine, where he is a teacher with the Northern New England Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Frank has been teaching in the same church school for the past 17 years, and received the Zapara Teacher Award and honors in Who’s Who in American Teachers. He enjoys winter sports, camping, computers, guitar, and photography. Kay teaches piano lessons, community health seminars, and ninth grade health. She enjoys sports, animals, camping, and genealogy. Both Kay and Frank remember good teachers and classes at wwc, intramural sports, working at admissions and records, and life-long friends. Jana (Smith) Boyd ’93 and her husband, Kendal ’89, make their home in Redlands, Calif. After completing her doctoral degree in marital and family therapy, Jana became a stay-at-home mom while Kendal joined the psychology faculty at Loma Linda University in 2001. Favorite college memories include Jana’s religion and theology classes, which she said helped her “grow toward a more mature faith with a broader perspective.” The Boyds are involved in homeless outreach and enjoy hiking, camping, snow skiing, and spending time with their children, Alec and James. Garry Dieter ’93 and his wife, Kaye (Sue) att., make their home in Kalispell, Mont., with their three children, Katie, Ella, and Jack. Garry is employed as an anesthesiologist at Kalispell Regional Medical Center. The Dieters enjoy the Big Mountain ski area in the winter, and camping in Glacier National Park during the summer. Brian Dury ’93 and his wife, Michelle, live in Kennewick, Wash. Since graduation Brian has worked in the nursing field in a variety of areas. He says being a flight nurse with Critical Air Medicine was one of his most rewarding professional experiences. For this job he flew acutely ill patients to Seattle, Spokane, and Portland. From his academic career at wwc, Brian remembers the encouragement of Carol Brown, the kindness of Lois Whitechurch, and the leadership of Fred Troutman. He enjoys computers, motorcycles, and riding horses with his wife of three years, Michelle, who is also a nurse. Brian now works in the cardiac cath lab at Kadlec Medical Center. EMAIL

Kenneth Haggett ’93 and his wife, Joyce (Anderson) att., live in Pembroke, N.H., where Kenneth is a teacher at Coe-Brown Academy and Joyce is an operating room nurse. Kenneth teaches U.S. history and woodworking. He and Joyce also run a small farm where their two sons, Cody and Trevor, can be close to nature and have space to grow. EMAIL

Nicolette “Niccie” Knipe ’93 makes her home in Portland, Ore., with husband, John Cart, and their son, Max. She is unit shift leader in the intensive care unit at the Portland Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center. After college Nicolette completed a master’s degree in community health care systems at Oregon Health Sciences University in 2000. She enjoys glass beadwork and creating fused glass jewelry.

Tamara (Schroeder) Rowe ’93 and her husband, Scott ’92, live in Mount Vernon, Wash., with their two children, Brett and Matt. Tamara is enjoying family life and being involved in her children’s school and Sabbath School. She recently opened her own bookkeeping business and enjoys the flexibility it allows. Favorite college memories include intramural sports, having friends close at hand, spending Sabbath afternoons in the park, and late Friday nights with plenty of snack foods. EMAIL

Ricki Robinson ’93 and his wife, Janice, make their home in Marshall, Minn., where Ricki is program director for the Southwest State University Social Work Program. He and Janice have six children, Cydney, Stephanie, Tom, Alissa, Rachel, and Bethany; and three grandchildren. EMAIL

Lynda (Witzel) Ruud ’93 makes her home in Wenatchee, Wash., with her husband, Sean att., and their children, Niqolas and Katelyn. Lynda is a registered nurse at Healthy Options Home Health. Lynda shares that having children was her life-changing experience. She says, “After we were blessed with our children, I more fully understood how constant God’s love is for us, even when we continue to fall away from him.” Lynda enjoys walks, making cards, spending time with family, and sharing the love of Jesus.
