New Personnel Add Collective Strength to Walla Walla College

Ten new faculty members joined the Walla Walla College campus this fall.

Duane Anderson, assistant professor of computer information systems, holds a bachelor of science degree from Loma Linda University and a master’s degree from Andrews University.

Tim Berthelsen, instructor in engineering, graduated from WWC in 2000 with a bachelor of science in engineering degree.

James Boyd, program coordinator and assistant professor for the social work program in Billings, Mont., earned a bachelor of arts degree and a master of social work degree from WWC, in 1987 and 2000, respectively.

Jack Cavanagh, professor of business, holds a master’s degree from Appalachian State University and an honorary doctor of humanities degree from Emmanuel Baptist University. He has been mayor of Winston-Salem, N.C., and also a member of the state senate.

Jonathan Duncan, assistant professor of mathematics, graduated from WWC in 1997 with a bachelor of science degree and a bachelor of arts degree. He has two master’s degrees from Indiana University and is currently working on his doctoral dissertation.

The new chair of the Music Department is Matthew James, who
has toured with the National Opera Company, directed musicals at Northern State University in South Dakota, and taught at Southern Adventist University and Fort Lewis College. He holds master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.

Harriett Hilario, assistant field coordinator and instructor for the social work program in Billings, Mont., holds a master of social work degree from San Jose University.

Lisa Lysne, assistant field coordinator and instructor for the social work program in Missoula, Mont., holds a master of social work degree from the University of Utah.

Tamara Randolph, assistant professor of education, comes to WWC from a teaching position at Washington State University. She holds a bachelor of arts degree from Union College, a master of education degree from Eastern Washington University, and a doctoral degree from Washington State University.

Marie Redwine, associate vice president for academic administration, holds an associate of arts degree from Southwestern Adventist College, a bachelor of science degree from Union College, a master’s degree from Northern Illinois University, and a doctoral degree from Texas Women’s University. She previously served as the academic vice president at Southwestern Adventist University from 1996 to 2001. W
